One of the most important goals of the Beman project is to provide a modern project template that allows users to get up and running immediately with all the features that help with development but are tedious to implement from scratch. This talk will discuss the Beman project's ongoing efforts to provide those features to our users via our template, beman.exemplar, including a modern CMake project structure, GitHub Actions-based CI, Docker images for CI, documentation, code coverage, linting, C++ modules, dependencies, and packaging and deployment. The talk will explore the design discussions that led to each aspect of beman.exemplar's current model.

Eddie is a C++ developer and standards committee member who works in financial technology. In industry, he's worked on market data solutions involving domain-specific languages, high-performance asynchronous network servers, and large-scale data lakes. On the standards committee, he can usually be found in the Library Evolution and Unicode working groups, and is currently focused on bringing seamless UTF transcoding to C++.
